Every one remembers Anurag Basu’s iconic film- Barfi, which add a feather to Ranbir Kapoor’s career and become a game-changing film for both Ranbir and Anurag. The film gave a new identity to both of them as well as to Priyanka Chopra.
The film made us fall in love with the endearing story and powerful characters- Ranbir Kapoor’s goofy yet intense character as a mute-deaf man and Priyanka Chopra’s realistic performance of an autistic girl, won many hearts and still remembered by all.
Now, the buzz is, the film might be remade in Tamil starring Dhanush. Barfi! has especially impressed Dhanush who is looking to remake the film. As per the recent reports on HT, the actor is keen on taking up this challenging film and remake in Tamil.
A source close to the actor told HT that, “It’s true Dhanush sir is very interested in the film’s remake. However, he can’t take up the project immediately even if the plan materializes as he is occupied with three projects, including Vetrimaaran’s highly anticipated Vada Chennai trilogy. He has just completed work on his Hollywood project. He will soon finish the pending portion of Enai Noki Paayum Thota and commence work on Maari 2. He also has a Bollywood project with Aanand L Rai in his kitty. If Barfi remake has to happen, it might go on the floors only in the second half of next year.”
The actor started the year with a bang as Dhanush made his directorial debut with ‘Pa Paandi’ and is working on his Hollywood debut film ‘The Extraordinary Journey of the Fahir’. The actor is also waiting for his film VIP 2 along with Kajol, which recently got the change in the release date.
