After the hot and humid weather, people desperately wait for monsoon and rain to get the sigh of relief. Monsoon has almost arrived and with it comes plenty of things like food, fashion, long drives and most importantly music. So here are some blissful songs where rain, romance, and love has been mentioned beautifully.

Barsaat Mein Humse Mile Tum (Barsaat-1949)

The name itself suggests that Barsaat (Rain) plays the major role and the song tells the happiness of a girl meeting her beloved. Sung by Lata Mangeshkar, features Raj Kapoor, Nimmi, and Prem Nath, the film also features Nargis.

Ek Ladki Bheegi Bhaagi Si (Chalti Ka Naam Gaadi- 1958)

One of the most iconic songs which we still humm when it rains. Car breaks down, torrential rains, a pretty driver, and a flirtatious mechanic. The song features Madhubala and Kishore Kumar, sung by Kishore Kumar.

Garjat Barsat Sawaan Aayo Re (Barsaat Ki Raat- 1960)

Though the song is not that famous but classic one, which embellished the opening credits of the film about Madhubala-Bharat Bhushan- Shyama love triangle. Sung by Suman Kalyanpur and Kamal Barot.

 O Sajna Barkha Bahar Aayi (Parakh 1960)

The song is best who loves rain, monsoon and whose beloved is far. The song features Sadhana and sung by Lata Mangeshkar. We can see her getting attracted towards the cloudbursts while conjuring up dreamy thoughts about her beloved.

O Ghata Sanwari (Abhinetri-1970)

Another happy song in a rainy backdrop, sung by Lata Mangeshkar. The song features Hema Malini in the glamorous avatar. Apart from her glam side, the actress also shows yoga poses only to dive into a heavenly bubble bath in the song.

Ab Ke Sawan Mein (Jaise Ko Taisa- 1973)

Bheegi Bheegi Raaton Mein (Ajanabee-1974)

Ab Ke Sajan Sawan Mein (Chupke Chupke- 1975)

A newly wed wife sings about romancing during monsoon, picturised on Dharmendra and Sharmila Tagore. The song was sung by Lata Mangeshkar.

Rimjhim Gire Sawan (Manzil-1979)

Another most beautiful rain song shows both aspects of love and sadness. The monsoon melody features Amitabh Bachchan and Moushumi Chatterjee and sung by Kishore Kumar (Male version) and the female version by Lata Mangeshkar.

Aaj Rapat Jaayen (Namak Halal-1982)

The most romantic and sensuous song of its time, which most of us still love to listen. An exuberant Amitabh Bachchan and sober Samita Patil, the song is the treat for all monsoon lovers. Sung by melodious Kishore Kumar and Asha Bhosle, a great composition by Bappi Lahiri.

Badal Yun Garajta Hai (Betaab- 1983)

When newbies surprised everyone with their stellar performance, Sunny Deol and Amrita Singh set the stage on fire when they find an excuse to rouse in a glass house to save themselves from thunder, lightning, and rain. The song was sung by Lata Mangeshkar and Shabbir Kumar.

Lagi Aaj Saawan (Chandni-1989)

The list will not be completed without mentioning this song. The song features Sridevi who looked gorgeous and the sight of her soaked in a sari touch a painful chord within Vinod Khanna, bringing back memories of his dead girlfriend (Juhi Chawla) and their common love for dancing in the rain. Sung by Suresh Wadkar and Anupama Deshpande.

Tip Tip Barsa (Mohra 1994)

One of the most sensuous songs set against the backdrop of rain. The song set the stage on fire in the 90s when Raveena Tandon in her yellow saree looks ravishing, beautiful and irresistible, and romancing Akshay Kumar. The chemistry between the duo was breathtaking and those dance movies, the song was sung by Alka Yagnik and Udit Narayan.

 Rimjhim Rimjhim (1942: A Love Story- 1994)

A beautiful film and equally beautiful songs. The song is the perfect example of rain and romance, the actors like Manisha Koirala and Anil Kapoor added the perfect charm to this song sung by Kumar Sanu and Kavita Krishnamurthy.

Saawan Barse Tarse Dil (Dahek-1999)

A Hindu-Muslim romance starring Akshaye Khanna and Sonali Bendre. The song is about a newly-dating couple anxious to see each other with the perfect blend of rain. The song was sung by Hariharan and Sadhana Sargam.

Ghana Ghana (Lagaan-2001)

The song from the cult movie is not associated with romance but this rainfall is sacred to farmers who were drought-stricken. The songs start in a bid to appeased the rain gods with substantial downpour instead clouds. The song features Aamir Khan and Gracy Singh, sung by singers like Alka Yagnik, Udit Narayan, Sukhwinder Singh, Shankar Mahadevan and Shaan.

Rabba Rabba Meh Varsa (Monsoon Wedding-2001)

 Chori Chori Chhora Chhori (Masti- 2004)

Baras Ja e Badal (Fareb- 2005)

The song is the perfect dance number and both the Shetty sisters were looking steaming hot in this dance number. The song features Shilpa and Shamita and sung by Sunidhi Chauhan. All three of them are power pack performers.
