Top 10 Bollywood’s Biggest Flops Of 2017 So Far

Bollywood this year promised a lot of movies and the first half of the year 2017 saw its fair share of surprises and disappointments, and many more to come in the remaining half year. There are films which unexpectedly did well at the box office, while there are some big budget films bit the dust. But the worst hit has been a flurry of medium budgeted films that have just not managed to find audiences coming their way.

So here is the list of biggest flops of the year thus far.

Raabta- Kriti Sanon and Sushant Singh Rajput stareer Raabta collected just 24 crores at the box-office. A movie based on the concept of reincarnation was rejected by the audience. But the music of the film was good.

OK, Jaanu- The first big release of the year turned out to be the first flop of the year 2017. Featuring Shraddha Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapoor, the film earned 23.6 crores. The film was the Hindi remake of superhit Tamil rom-com OK Kanmani but wasn’t successful as the original.

Rangoon- The most anticipated project of Vishal Bharadwaj just collected 23 crores. The film stars Kangana Ranaut, Shahid Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan, set against the backdrop of World War II failed to woo the audience. Though the performance of individuals has been appreciated.

Begum Jaan- Another movie after Rangoon which created much hype and controversies, but failed when it gets released. Begum Jaan was the remake of superhit Bengali film Rajkahini. Despite a cast of outstanding actors the film failed to leave an impression and collected only 20.75 crores.

Sarkar 3- The intense Ram Gopal Verma series, Sarkar 3 was not made up to the level like the previous two films. The film earned 9.50 crore and leave us with the question when was the last time an Amitabh Bachchan starrer made so little money?

Meri Pyaari Bindu- Another movie which created a lot of hype and came up with exciting marketing strategy. This is the movie which set the trend of launching mini trailers and the couple of posters, which many films makers are following. It was a low budget movie and the sale of non-theatrical rights ensured that the Meri Pyaari Bindu was a profitable production but it becomes box office failure with the collection of 9.50.

Bank Chor- Meri Pyaari Bindu was not enough when another Yash Raj film became flop. So it might be an alarm for Aditya Chopra to hire some fresh talent at YRF. The film only earns 8 crores.

Noor- Glad to know that there films which were a big disaster than Bank Chor. We too got surprised to know. Noor, which collected 7.75 crores is the film based on Saba Imtiaz novel Karachi, You’re Killing Me!

Machine- Abbas-Mustan failed to deliver a hit for Abbas’s son Mustafa’s Bollywood debut. The team tried all the elements to deliver a successful Bollywood drama movie but it turns out to be the lowest performing film and collected only 3.15 crore.

Aa Gaya Hero- Comeback film of Govinda was a big time disaster and there are people who don’t even know about this film. The film was in making for several years in the hopes that it would salvage Govinda’scareer but it was a disaster and earned only 1 crore.

Hope the rest half will deliver more hits than the flops!
