The last big budget movie of this year, Dangal, got released today. His movie has been produced by Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao and Siddharth Rai Kapoor. The film has been written by four great writers Nikhil Malhotra, Shreyas Jain, Piyush Gupta and Nitesh Tiwari and it has been directed by Nitesh Tiwari. Main star cast consists of Aamir Khan as Mahavir Singh Phogat, Sakshi Tanwar as his wife, Fatima as Geeta Phogat and Sania as Babita Singh Phogat.
The plot of this film has been based on Former Indian Wrestling Champion Mahavir Singh Phogat. This is a biographical sports drama. Mahavir Singh who had failed to win a gold for his country dreamed about the day when his future son would win a gold for his country. But unfortunately he becomes a father to four daughters one after the other. This lowers down his spirits and he shuts down all his dreams in a trunk. But his dreams get a ray of hope when his two daughters Geeta and Babita beat up two boys of the village. He realises that his dream of winning gold for his country can be accomplished by his daughters. It is then that Mahavir transforms into a “HaaniKarak Baapu”.
He trains his daughter in the art of wrestling which helps them win several competitions including the National Championship. The go international , where Geeta gets elininated in the first round in four countries. What happened that the girl who pinned down several great wrestlers on the Indian soil but faced defeat at the international level? And what became the reason that the same girls defeated International wrestlers at the common wealth games and thus won the Gold medal for India? To get the answer to all these questions you need to go and watch the film. Because I wont be telling you the story of the film, I would just be giving my reviews on it.
Lets take a look at the film from my point of view, This film has highlighted two instances. First , there should be no unbiased attitude in the upbringing of a girl and a boy. The second, the exsistence of ruthless politics in sports which has hindered our coutry to perform well in the world. This film has a very crisp and strong script. The first half has a fine blend of humour, drama and emotions. There is no loophole for a loo break. The second half is dragged at some places but overall that can be ignored. Nitesh Tiwari needs to be appreciated for his screenplay and Direction. If we talk about the acting, Aamir is perfectly and completely in charectar and so is Sakshi Tanwar. Fatima and Zaira justified the charectar of Geeta Phogat in a perfect way. Suhani Bhatnagar did very well when she performed the young Babita on screen. Sania Malhotra who was playing the older Babita however seemed normal and nothing out of the box.
Cinematography of this film is great and so is the music. The songs of this movie have already acquired a significant position on the music charts and are already on the lips of the people. This is a great movie which you should not miss. This movie which is based on a true story inspires the society to change its perception and thinking. Daughters shouldn’t be taken as a burden. And if given a chance they can shine brightly and bring your name in the limelight as well. This movie gets 4 out of 5 stars. And for more unbiased and accurate movie reviews log onto my channel.
