As always, Salman Khan this time also tired to give and take Eidi to the audience on this Eid with his film Tubelight. The film is the adaptation of Hollywood movie ‘Little Boy’. Tubelight is written and directed by Kabir Khan, produced by Salman Khan and screenplay by Parveez Shaikh and Kabir Khan.
The film features Salman Khan, Sohail Khan, MTV China fame VJ and singer Zhu Zhu. The plot of the movie based on the 1962 India-China war and how the common citizens of two countries become victims of each other’s hatred.
Salman Khan played the role of elder brother Laxman who is simple and sheepish, because of this his friends calls him tubelight. Younger brother Bharat aka Sohail Khan played the guardian but due to the war, he gets recruited to the army and tubelight aka Laxman was left alone.
The film has tried to give the message that have believe in yourself and everything is possible. Anything can be achieved, even the rock can be shaken. With this self-belief, Salman Khan aka Tubelight, in this movie shakes the mountain on his own and even stops India and China war.
Altogether the belief was over hyped in the movie. If a little more hard work would be done on the screenplay, then they can give some more sessions which can make it a good film. Overall the screenplay is poor, due to which Kabir Khan’s direction also did nothing.
If we talk about acting, you will see Salman in a different form and I would appreciate his acting, that at the age of 50 years he tried to play the role of a feeble-minded person.
Sohail’s acting is not up to the mark, he acted very flat. Where Chinese actress Zhu Zhu acted well, considering the fact that she acted in a Hindi film. Child actor Matin Rey, who is from Arunachal has also acted very well and also gave awesome expressions. Late veteran actor Om Puri does not have any special character in the film.
The rest of the actors and artist were also fine, it seems that no one has taken the film seriously. It seems that everyone had already come to know that what will be the film’s fate at the box-office, so they thought why to put more efforts.
There is only one song, which got bit popular before the release of the film. The cinematography is also not appealing, good shots can be taken and especially when you were shooting in the hills, but no efforts were taken on that part too.
The audience had very high expectations and in the sustainment of expecting a twist in the plot, they encountered intermission. After intermission, at once it seems that the film has ended but it did not happen and it doesn’t make a logic even. There was two climax in the film.
Overall, if you are a die-hard fan of Salman Khan then it is useless to say anything to you. Those who go to the theater for good movies, they should try to on Tubelight in their own houses, as this Tubelight will not turn on at all. My rating for this film is 1.5 out of 5.
