In January 2017, Mohanlal confirmed the revival of his 2014 project- Randamoozham on a TV show. The film is based on MT Vasudevan Nair’s novel of the same name, which narrates Mahabharatha from Bheem’s perspective.
It is a big budget movie, where the makers will spend around 600 crores and will be helmed by Sreekumar. According to reports, director of the film has confirmed Amitabh Bachchan’s role in the film.
Sreekumar told TOI, “Yes, he is the Bhishma of Randamoozham. We aren’t taking any cinematic liberties with the character for the movie, he will be playing the role as it is in the book.”
It is to be said that BigB will be playing Bhishma and the movie is going to be a grand project. Though the rest of the cast and crew are yet to be finalised. The film will going to be Amitabh Bachchan and Mohanlal’s third collaboration as they both come together for Kandahar which was a part of the Major Ravi series.
Their second collaboration was Aag directed by Ram Gopal Verma, both the movies didn’t fare too well and let’s see what gonna happen the third time.
When this project was discussed, back in 2014, the team had planned on roping in Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for Draupadi’s role, Vikram as Arjun and Nagarjuna for another character.
Currently Mohanlal is awaiting of 1971- Beyond Borders, which is the fourth part of Major Ravi series.
