28th October 2016, an important day when two important Films popped up on the charts. One is “Shivaay” and the other one is “Ae Dil Hai Mushkil”. Guys, first lets talk about Ajay Devgan starrer Film Shivaay.
Shivaay , a so called Action Movie has been Directed and Produced by Ajay Devgan. The film has been written by Sandeep Shrivastav and Robin Bhatt. The main cast incluedes Sayyesha Saigal, Spanish Actress Erika Kaar, British Child actress Abigail Eames, Vir Das, Girish Karnad and Saurabh Shukla.
I am sorry Ladies and gentleman as I used the term “so called” in my previous statement,because I am not sure of its performance in the box office and other platforms. The film is all smoke. The Plot of this film is as follows, Ajay Devgan , an orphan resides somewhere in the Himalayan Hills. And he knows the ice capped hills like the back of his hand. Even the army takes his help sometimes. His complete knowledge of the hills help him earn a living as he takes tourists on trekking and mountain climbing. It is during one such excursion he comes across a Bulgarian Girl Erika Kaar and falls in love with her. Their love enhances and Erika gives birth to a baby girl ,Gaura. And then one fine day Erika leaves for her country.
Meanwhile Gaura (Abigail eames) grows up and expresses her desire to meet her mother. Shivaaye finally take Gaura to Bulgaria to meet her mother where unfortunately Gaura gets abducted by the Russian Mafia. And then we get the glimpse of Shivaaye in Action.
Why does the Russian Mafia abduct Gaura?… Is Shivaay successful in saving his daughter from the clutches of Russian Mafia?….Does Gaura finally meet her Mother?…Is sh able to able to get the love and affection of both her parents at the same time? Well, to get the answers to these questions you have to go and watch the film because as I said before I don’t tell the story of the film. I am the one who gives my reviews on the film, carrying out a small but important post mortem on them.
Lets have a look at the film from my point of view. The slow pace of the film during the intial stages of the film and character estabilishment leads to boredom. The film gets a bit monotonous at the beginning and I can`t understand the reason behind it.
And that is the my question to Mr. Devgan as he the one who directed this film.
The pace of the story is slow and moderate as long as it is in India, but as soon as the story touches Bulgaria the mercury rises and we see great action then, and it is action till the end. Mind you it is not just action it is what I call violent action which might not be enjoyed by many and might not overwhelm the people. The story has several loopholes and the Direction had no weightage.
Ajay Devgan might recover his invested money due to his stardom rest the story has no unique edge. Not only this there is just one title track in the name of songs. Therefore it necome difficult for me to give more than two stars to this movieas ratings. All in all it is a flop film.
