Hum Paanch Is Returning With The All-New Cast

Recently, the early 2000s comedy show ‘Sarabhai vs Sarabhai’ just made a comeback as a web series and now the 90s cult show ‘Hum Paanch’ is returning with all the new faces. Yes, you heard it right. The makers of the show were busy zeroing in names for the new star cast of the show. And finally, they have finalised most of the characters of the show. So let’s take a look at the new star cast.

‘Hum Paanch’, was the show originally aired from 1995-1999 and then in 2005, based on the middle-class Mathur family. The show will be titled, Hum Paanch Phir Se and this is the third time that the sitcom is making a comeback on the small screen.

In the original show, witnessed the hillarious troubles that Anand Mathur (Ashok Saraf) faced thanks to his five daughters, Meenakshi (Vandana Pathak), Radhika (Vidya Balan ), Sweety (Rakhee Tandon), Kajal Bhai (Bhairavi Raichura) and Choti (Priyanka Mehra) and his dead wife speaking to him through a portrait.

Unlike the last two season of the show, this will not be produced by Ekta Kapoor and will be produced by Essel Vision Production. And the makers this time will give the show a modern touch of comedy which won many hearts back in 1995 and 2005. Though the dates of the show to go on-air hasn’t been finalised yet but its major casting has been done.

The character of Anand Mathur, played by Ashok Saraf will now play by actor Sooraj Thapar. The character will be seen handling his five crazy daughters and his two wives in the show.

The next one is of Anand Mathur’s first wife, who made his life even more miserable, will be played by Vaishnavi Macdonalds. Earlier, in the first season portrays by Priya Tendulkar.

Anand Mathur’s second wife Bina Mathur and his daughter’s partner in crime will be played by Seema Pandey, which was earlier played by Shoma Anand.

Rebellious Kajal Bhai, the fourth sister, will be played by Jayashree Venkataramanan. The character was earlier played by Bhairavi Raichura.

The second sister Radhika Mathur, originally played by Vidya Balan, now will be essayed in the new show by Ambalika Sapra.
